About Subiaco

subiaco-2

Subiaco is a very popular suburb of Perth with it's location as a central city suburb with interesting heritage, leafy streets and Perth City/Kings Park border.  Subiaco has a vast array of restaurants and cafes and many attractions including galleries, museums and theatres and two markets. It doesn't stop there - Subiaco has a pulsing nightlife with a range of bars, clubs and pubs catering for any occasion.

Home to WA football, Subiaco Oval is a premier venue for interstate and overseas artists.

All of this can be found within an established inner city area with well planted streets and public reserves. Subiaco has many mature and significant trees in its streets, public and private gardens. This feature contributes greatly to the enviable 'leafy' character of the city. Subiaco is open seven days a week and with late night trading on Thursdays is a must for all visitors.

Within the Subiaco shire are 5 of Perth's hospitals - Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Princess Margaret Children's Hospital, Sir John of God (Subiaco), King Edward Memorial Hospital and Hollywood Private Hospital.  The New Children's Hospital is currently being constructed in Shenton Park next door to Subiaco.  These hospitals bring a lot of visitors to the shire in need of short term accommodation.

Subi Centro is the transport hub of the district, with the train service running from Perth - Fremantle via Subiaco. Perth City is only 2 quick stops away.  There are also many buses passing through servicing the Shenton Park hospital district and University of Western Australia.
